Southland Printing Company is looking to fill the following positions. In addition to the information below, job descriptions are also attached.

 

Position Title – Sales Account Manager

Summary of Duties – Responsible for developing new business, connecting with key business stakeholders.  Communicate between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of Southland Printing Company, Inc. solutions according to customer needs.

Skills/Qualifications – Must have excellent understanding of current applications and trends selling in the printing industry; Proven Account Management skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships; Must be proficient working with all types of sales to national accounts and selling business to business; Must be comfortable working towards defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s); Must be able to quickly understand the client, their products and their industry; Experience in managing product development and launches, coordinating team members, developing timetables and setting deadlines in order to achieve client objectives. Ability to effectively manage customer & staff relationships, promptly respond to queries, ensure promises are kept and manage expectations; Ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive inbound and outbound calls, emails, and proposals to focus on maintaining and expanding business relationships as well as gaining market share with new customers.
  • Develop new accounts and prospects through networking, referrals and cold calling.
  • Maintaining a high volume of daily activity including a minimum of 50 cold calls per day.
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of SPC solutions (services and products) according to customer needs and objectives.
  • Communicate clearly the progress of weekly/monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics using sales funnel.

Position Title – Prepress Technician

Summary of Duties – Will generate digital images and print files for digital press that comply with job and departmental specifications and procedures. Perform typesetting and platemaking functions for the Prepress Department.

Skills/Qualifications – High level of proficiency with MAC computers and Adobe Creative Suite for the purpose of creating print ready files and in-depth knowledge of (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, QuarkXpress) in a Prepress environment. Proficient with WINDOWS computers and Microsoft Word and Excel. Good eye hand coordination and able to distinguish between colors. Accuracy and attention to detail in the preparation and proofing of various documents and correspondence. Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly. Ability to use a variety of hand held measuring devices; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure including metrics, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to read a ruler and measure accurately. Ability to read, interpret and apply instructions and procedures contained in documents such as procedure manuals, job jackets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and a variety of technical manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to communicate well with supervisors and associates. Ability to prioritize work, and meet deadlines to ensure on-time delivery schedules are met.

Summary of Responsibilities

  •   Assessing the digital files submitted by the customer, verifying that the files are         properly formatted, assuring high quality output.
  •   Create Press ready PDF’s that can be used for digital printing.
  •   Modify and Manipulate data manifest files using Microsoft Excel.
  •   Prepare typesetting layouts and make plates for printing presses according to           customer specifications and job jacket instructions.
  •   Carefully review instructions and proofread copy to ensure they are correct.             Report and correct any discrepancies or errors.
  •   Prepare typesetting layouts on the computer using Macintosh software (i.e.,              Photoshop. InDesign, Illustrator, Quark) including custom typeface styles and           logos.
  •   Prepare data bases and press ready files using Microsoft Excel and EngageIT             software.
  •   Prepare proofs and proof sheets.
  •   Image polymer or metal plates using digital prepress equipment, computer and       computer software.

Position Title – Bindery Support Specialist

Summary of Duties – Responsible for packaging printed products produced on a printing press.

Skills/Qualifications – Minimum age of 18. Good eye hand coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to use small hand tools and finishing equipment. Accuracy and attention to detail in the preparation and proofing of various documents and correspondence. Moderate mechanical aptitude – Some troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.  Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly. Moderate mathematical skills – Ability to use a variety of hand held measuring devices; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure including metrics, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all packaging of printed material produced on the assigned press.  Must be willing to work at a reasonable pace to keep up with the product being delivered.
  • Review complete job jacket regarding specific bindery requirements and act accordingly.
  • Review printed orders to make sure that they correspond to job jackets and are packed correctly.
  • Carefully review printed product for quality and defects and report such to pressman.
  • Review labels and shipping instructions for accuracy and deliver finished product to assigned areas.
  • Monitor and assist pressman when necessary.
  • Pull supplies as requested by pressman.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of Flexo equipment.
